Extensive images of Helena’s historic core illustrate the physical changes to downtown and help us understand downtown Helena’s evolution to the place we know today. A special feature highlights the iconic Marlow Theatre. The exhibit is a collaborative effort of the Lewis & Clark Co. Heritage Tourism Council and Lewis & Clark Co. Historical Society. Admission is free; hours are Monday-Thursday, noon-5 p.m.; Fridays 5-7 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m.-1 p.m. For more information call 447.8357.

Big River (The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn)
Grandstreet, 7:30pm
More Details
Twain’s timeless classic sweeps us down the mighty Mississippi as the irrepressible Huck Finn helps his friend Jim, a slave, escape to freedom at the mouth of the Ohio River. Their adventures along the way are hilarious, suspenseful and heart- warming, bringing to life your favorite characters from the novel- the Widow Douglas and her stern sister, Miss Watson; The King and Duke, who may or may not be as harmless as they seem; Huck’s partner in crime, Tom Sawyer, and their rowdy gang of pals; Huck’s drunken father, Pap Finn; the lovely Mary Jane Wilkes and her trusting family. Propelled by an award- winning score from Roger Miller, the king of country music, this jaunty journey provides a brilliantly theatrical celebration of pure Americana. |

Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a bad guy with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Set in a small southern beauty parlor with a colorful cast of gossips, the play is alternately hilarious and touching. Truvy’s beauty salon is where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle, the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon, Ouiser, an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, and the local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter Shelby is about to get married. Filled with hilarious repartee which gives the play, and it’s characters, the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company. |

Cabaret
Grandstreet, 7:30pm
More Details
Leave your troubles behind and enter the Kit Kat Klub, a world where “everything is beautiful.” Set against the decadence of Berlin in the 1930s, Cabaret has become one of the most powerful and popular musicals of our time. From the writers of Chicago, this musical will sweep you away with such well known classics; “Maybe This Time,” “Willkommen,” and “Tomorrow Belongs To Me.” Pushing the boundaries of what musical theatre is capable of, this contemporary classic asks the question; “what good is sitting all alone in your room … come hear the music play.” |

When four small town Vermont residents enroll in an acting class taught at the local community center, they discover much more than they thought possible. As they begin to experiment with harmless games, their real offstage lives gradually infiltrate the classroom, revealing insights and transformations both humorous and heartbreaking. Winner of the 2010 Obie Award for Best Play, this is an interesting and comedic look at how the intimacy of an acting class has the power to shape lives in surprising and substantial ways. |

More Details
Step into the enchanted world of Broadway’s modern classic, Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST! Based on the Academy- Award winning animated feature, the stage version includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.
Be transported to the heart of provincial life in a lovely French town. When Maurice becomes lost in the woods on the way to the fair, he seeks shelter in an old castle, but the master of the castle is a horrible beast that takes him captive. Maruice’s daughter, Belle, must then give up her freedom to save his life. Belle’s taming of the unfortunate Beast and his ultimate transformation back into a handsome prince enthralled Broadway audiences for over 13 years. |

Light a Life
Helena Civic Center, 4:30pm
More Details
Honor and remember your loved ones with a light on the Hospice Tree at the Helena Civic Center. To be listed at the ceremony, donations must be received by December 6th. Every gift will light one light for someone special and every night throughout the holidays thousands of lights will shine in honor of loved ones while continuing to provide Hospice care to the community.
A brief indoor candle lighting ceremony will take place in the ballroom to honor the names of all those for whom lights have been given, and then the 80-foot tall evergreen in front of the Civic Center will be lit.
Light a Life is the only fund-raising event for Hospice of St. Peter’s. Hospice helps make the lives of the terminally ill as full, comfortable, and meaningful as possible.
To make your contribution to Lite a Life, click here, or send a check in the amount of $10 for each person to be honored. Please provide who the gift is in memory of or in honor of and to whom you would like a card of notification sent.
