Front of the State Capitol
The Helena Area Chamber of Commerce along with the Montana Motor Carriers Association is excited to present an opportunity for the community to come view the Nation’s Christmas Tree as it makes its way from the Kootenai Forest in Montana to Washington, D.C. to become the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree.
The event takes place on November 16th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the North Side of the Capitol Building. Enjoy carolers, complimentary cookies and hot chocolate sponsored by Opportunity Bank.
Governor Steve Bullock, Helena Mayor Jim Smith, and Attorney General Tim Fox will address and welcome you as you see this 70-foot tree en route to the Nation’s Capital.
The Helena Chamber is also partnering with the Helena Food Share to kick off the Holiday Season with a Thanksgiving food drive at the event. The food drive will also take place during the event from 11 am to 1 pm.
Individuals and businesses are welcome to come view the Nation’s Christmas tree and are asked to bring a donation for a holiday meal if possible. Suggested food items can include but are not limited to canned cranberries, boxed stuffing, chicken broth, and boxed pudding or jello. Other items might include canned sweet potatoes, yams, pumpkin, olives and milk. The Helena Food Share is currently helping between 1700-1900 families to make ends meet – help them have a happy Thanksgiving meal.
See you on November 16th!!
A HUGE THANK YOU to Tempest Technologies, Windfall Advertising and SouthWest Montana Tourism Region for their generous cash donations.
