Morgan Named Chamber's 2010 Artist of the Year
The Chamber is proud to announce our nomination of Bob Morgan, fourth generation Montana and one of the original founders of the Western Rendezvous of Art, as our Helena Chamber 2010 Artist of the Year. In the piece he created for the Chamber, Morgan has captured the glory of the Green Meadow Barn, a massive yet elaborate structure which was part of the Green Meadow Ranch, and was located where Green Meadow Drive now runs just north of the Lewis & Clark County Fairgrounds. The barn measured 450 feet in length and 40 feet high. Unfortunately, the magnificent structure was lost to fire in 1956, along with 22 head of prize stock. Part of the stone wall which fronted the barn can still be seen today. Morgan has already completed this great piece of artwork, and it is currently hanging in the Chamber offices. We invite you to stop by and see it! You will also get a chance to own a piece of history by purchasing prints of Morgan's lastest masterpiece.
