We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on Intermountain, a local non-profit organization dedicated to healing Montana’s children and families through behavioral, mental, and developmental health services. This month, Intermountain launched a short educational documentary airing nationally on public television via the series “Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid”. The film “Navigating Behavioral and Mental Health: Stories of Hope & Healing”, showcases Intermountain’s innovative, powerful work and the story of one family they deeply transformed.
To celebrate, Intermountain threw a film premier watch party and discussion panel this past Tuesday, August 12 at the Myrna Loy theatre. Over 100 people came to learn more about the importance of mental healthcare in our community, view and celebrate the documentary, meet each other and rally their excitement and enthusiasm for Intermountain’s future.
Serving 1,200 clients annually, Intermountain is one of the few organizations in the country providing care for children as young as 4 years old. Their impact is profound—on average, they serve one child in every classroom in Helena, Bozeman, and Belgrade.
COA Accreditation: A Milestone of Excellence
Intermountain has also recently achieved COA accreditation, an independent verification of their commitment to best practices and organizational excellence. As Jamie Palagi, CEO of Intermountain, shared: “Achieving COA accreditation is a confirmation of the incredible work and care every employee at Intermountain provides every day. The excellence of our services has been rigorously and objectively vetted.”
This accreditation, effective through December 31, 2028, underscores Intermountain’s dedication to providing exceptional care, especially in a state where youth suicide rates are nearly double the national average.
Why This Matters
- 1 in 7 children nationwide experience a mental health disorder each year (CDC).
- Intermountain’s work addresses critical gaps in mental health care, offering hope and healing to children and families in need.
