Helena has ready access to freight rail services. Montana Rail Link, a division of the Washington Corporation, is a regional railroad linking southern and western Montana with the nation’s rail network. Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railway connects with Montana Rail Link to provide nationwide coverage.

Air freight carriers include FedEx, Airborne, and UPS. Interstate 15, a major commerce route between Canada and Mexico, passes through Helena as do 2 major highways.

The Helena Regional Airport lies in the northeast corner of the city, just 2.5 miles from the city center. Its modern facilities and the prevailing weather conditions make it one of the most reliable departure/arrival point in Montana.

Skywest Airlines, flying as a Delta Connection, provides daily round-trip nonstop jet service flights to Salt Lake City and Minneapolis. These flights provide approximately 250 seats a day for Helena travelers, along with connections to domestic and international destinations.

Alaska Airlines, provides daily round trips to Seattle, WA and Great Falls, MT

Delta Airlines, provides daily round trip flights to Salt Lake City, UT and Minneapolis, MT

United Express, a branch of United Airlines, provides daily round-trip flights to Denver.

Within the city, the Helena Area Transit System (HATS) offers both door-to-door daily service as well as many regularly scheduled stops connecting downtown Helena with the east side of town.
